Similarly, while I agree with Zuckberg’s read that the first iteration of the Vision Pro feels pretty much exclusively a single-player device, what’s to say Apple doesn’t change this over time as well? Certainly the amazing screen technology that Zuckerberg dismisses as too expensive would create for a great social experience if Apple chooses to go down that path one day. Or, more likely, if some of their millions of developers do…

MG, why are you as binary as Ballmer the Monkey Boy was in retrospect?

MG, why are you as binary as Ballmer the Monkey Boy was in retrospect? Zuck can very much just be playing down the competition in public communications while plans being different. I believe Meta, if they play it right, will stand to be the biggest beneficiary in a metaverse play…

…t’s a hard self-assessment to make. Especially when you’ve literally bet the company on this space. You can still be a player, and an important one in an important part of the market. A larger scale market which Meta already touches thanks to their social products, no less. Maybe start there and inch up market over time as costs come down. But at the same time, there’s now a huge risk that Apple will frame the entire space and that it will flow downwards from there. And they, of course, did not mention “Metaverse” once today. Nor will they. Probably ever.

You forgot to mention the Metaverse is not just a hardware play.

You forgot to mention the Metaverse is not just a hardware play. Meta got the social and software to build on top of Apple's hardware. They just have to swallow their pride, and play on both their android to Apple's highend headset. Facebook, Instagram, etc. "apps" run pretty fine on…

…structure costs, scale of network required, and size of training data required) than social graphs. Any consumer platform can now manufacture a social graph simply by connecting to its users’ address books, making this previously highly differentiated asset something any company, big or small, can build with a few lines of code and an effective go-to-market strategy. However, having a highly effective recommendation engine is an engineering feat that only the scale…

This is so wrong.

This is so wrong. Hello, network effects? If achieving that and beating Facebook's scale is easy, Google+ for one would have succeeded in dethroning Facebook as a pseudo monopoly in social networks.

What about Prisma in your selection process?

What about Prisma in your selection process? They have a Go client, albeit not as mature as their main JS/TS client. Love their dev tooling and it takes a similar SQL first approach.

Today, if you know which artist you want to listen to, it’s easy to “cut out the middleman”: you just go to that artist’s website and buy their songs, albums, merchandise, concert tickets, etc. The musician can keep “over 90% of sales”. No need for NFTs.

And why would users just pay artists on their websites, what do they get in return? NFTs is a novel mechanism because of its guaranteed uniqueness and scarcity, and for music represents ownership endowed by the creator. The user is getting something scarce and perceivably valuable to collect in return. …

That’s more fair.

That’s more fair. But as a dev, I see Cardano’s problem with slow dApps coming to deployment being that it's not just another EVM compat chain with little to add other than me too, I'm faster and cheaper than ETH. Cardano is using an entirely different accounting model using eUXTO…

GitHub stars are tokens of appreciation or an indication of interest. Some consider GitHub stars as mere bookmarks (or bots entry) to which, I would disagree.

Oh wow, you counted the stars.

Oh wow, you counted the stars. Have you also counted how many unresolved issues/PRs there are in each repos? Hint: more is not better. Unlike stars. ⭐️

You need and work closely with developers to build the design system structure. (Sometimes I think front developers should drive it)

Interesting.

Interesting. But by working closely with frontend devs, which should happen regardless, means Framer can also replace Storybook https://storybook.js.org/

Because we can't? Which begs the question from Apple: Where are the APIs after all these years, to build on Siri/Voice as a platform? Where's my Voice App Store?
